Workers Outside of Work is apart of an ongoing exhibition spotlighting the complex identities of workers outside of their workplace. Created in the spirit of activism, this project if a reflection of the reformist efforts pushing to the forefront of the contemporary labor movement. At its root it echoes how essential it is to understand workers as an intersection of complex identities. Workers do not trade off the hats of their identity when they walk into the workplace and sport a solitary ‘worker hat’. They have many, many hats. Someone can be a nurse, immigrant, a tenant and a parent all at the same time. If we want we more just economic system we need to truly embrace whole entire identity, not just one slice.
